I have an 11 yr. old stepson whose mother isn’t very involved in his education(although he lives with her full time). Therefore he hasn’t done very well in school and has failed twice, leaving him in the 3rd grade. I am wondering if there is a way to homeschool him this summer, so that when the new school year starts he’ll be in at least the 5th if not the 6th instead of the 4th?

in1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th,7th,8th,9th that is because I didn’t want to and my parents couldn’t because of some reason but if it wasn’t for that and my parents working I would have been homeshooled in all of my grades. HOPE THIS HELPS

Get everything in writing. As a parent who wishes to homeschool your child, you are required to file the appropriate paperwork with either a local or state education agency. The name and age of the student must be given, along with lesson plans in some cases. Currently, parents are not required to have a teaching certificate in order to educate their child at home, but it’s important to check with your state’s laws regarding homeschooling as they may vary by state.
One final note: It is very important for home schooled children to be properly socialized with other children. Playing with kids their own age they can learn valuable social skills that will help them become more successful later in life.
